Workwear Clothing

 

Many people don't realise the importance of workwear clothing to safety of the workforce. In our opinion, it is just as important as safety equipment. 

 

High visibility shirts and safety vests are highly important in environments that have moving equipment. Of course, worker awareness plays a big part in reducing workplace accidents that result in injuries and mortality; however, it does help if all workers can be seen clearly. Workers do need to look out for themselves; but high visibility workwear makes it possible for the entire workforce to look out for others. Relying on reflexes just doesn't make sense. 

 

From time to time, workwear clothing can become a safety hazard. It should be kept in good shape so that it doesn't add to the possibility of catching up in equipment and actually causing accidents. A torn vest or clothing with loose accessories is just as bad as uncharged fire extinguishers or defective respirators. They all increase the risk of lost time accidents, injuries and death. 

 

If your desire is to keep the workers of your company safe, by all means invest in safety equipment and workwear clothing. Require your workers to use it and teach them how to use it appropriately. Have regular inspections and replace the equipment or workwear when it becomes a risk.
